| Rest Assured - We Plan To Be Here A Long Time! |
|
There have been a number of stories in local and regional media that have reported or implied that the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program is closing, or is in danger of closing. We want to reassure you that this is absolutely not the case. RMRP sent a press release about our huge caseload, and that we needed community support. Because of the outpouring of generosity, we are getting the help we need to deal with this current crisis. Like most nonprofits, RMRP continues to struggle financially and needs ongoing and regular charitable gifts to support its lifesaving work.
Most of our efforts go toward our twofold mission: 1) treating and releasing birds of prey that are victims of collisions, electrical injuries, shootings, destruction of nests, and sickness due to toxins in the environment; and 2) providing 170 days of regional environmental education programs to thousands of children and adults each year. We are confident that after 30 years of rescuing nearly 5,000 raptors, healing and releasing a high percentage of them, and providing environmental education for hundreds of thousands children and families in the region, that the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program has a bright future. We thank you for your confidence in us. We want to reassure you that we are here "for the long haul". We need ongoing financial support to continue to pursue our mission; selling our land will give us the ability to build our own building for long-term security. The trust we have built with you is the basis of our success. Without you, there is no Rocky Mountain Raptor Program. We hope that your confidence in us remains strong!
