16 Eyes Disappear

COBAs_in_Corner_CroppedLast month we reported that a farmer in Eastern Colorado was surprised to find 8 immature Barn Owls in a grain bin. Some quick action by the Brush, Colorado Division of Wildlife office brought them to us on July 31, 2009. In 30 years of raptor rehabilitation, we’ve never admitted 8 birds from the same clutch before. Fortunately they were unharmed, and stayed with us just long enough to pass flight and mouse school before being released a month after they arrived. These kids munched through $700 worth of mice while they were here, but what a joy it was to see them fly away.
