Once starving to death, this Great Horned Owl survived to touch the skies!Once starving to death, this Great Horned Owl survived to touch the skies! The owl was so thin, one could hardly tell there was anything in the feather-light box the rescuer rushed through the door. Weak with exhaustion and hunger, the Great Horned Owl could not even stand. Found on the ground, no energy to even move, the owl was pretty far gone by the time he was rescued.

Three weeks later, he was standing on his own, eating with vigor, and defying the odds. Sometimes it seemed that he survived on will power alone as the owl struggled to live. The bird weighed barely 50% of what he should have when he came to us. After gaining nearly half a pound, he's healthy and feisty. Three days before Thanksgiving he was released at the Environmental Learning Center in east Fort Collins.

Thanks to you, this bird had all the tasty food, medical expertise, and time he needed to recover. This owl found his way to a Second Chance at Freedom, all because you cared enough to give!
