Age: You must be 12 years or older to volunteer. Volunteers between age 12 and 16 must be accompanied at each volunteer shift by a parent or other adult. Attendance: Volunteers attend weekly Rounds. These required meetings occur every Tuesday evening from 6-7:15 PM. We discuss medical cases, determine treatments, cover new raptor intakes, coordinate schedules for daily treatments and upcoming events, and address general RMRP business.
In addition to attending Rounds, we ask all volunteers to work at least one Treatment shift per week. With morning, evening, and weekend shifts available, it is easy to find a shift that fits into your schedule. Treatments occur twice a day at 7:00AM and 4:00PM. Treatment shifts typically last from 90 minutes to 3 hours, but sometimes go longer, depending on the number of cases in the center.
