The Rocky Mountain Raptor Program (RMRP) is proud to announce that we will be co-hosts with EDM International for the 2019 Raptor Research Foundation Conference.  The conference will be held November 5- 9, 2019 at the Fort Collins Hilton on Prospect Road.

The Raptor Research Foundation (RRF)  is an international scientific society whose primary goal is the accumulation and dissemination of scientific information about raptors. Additionally, RRF is dedicated to the training of the next generation of raptor researchers through networking and training opportunities.  This conference will bring raptor researchers, biologists, scientists and students from all over the world to Northern Colorado.  The RMRP’s mission “To inspire the protection and appreciation of raptors and the spaces where they live through excellence in rehabilitation, education, and research” is perfectly aligned with the mission of the RRF. “We are thrilled to be chosen to host this prestigious and important scientific conference”, states RMRP Executive Director, Carin Avila. “Furthering scientific and ecological research, knowledge, appreciation, and protection of raptors is a big part of maintaining a world we want to live in”.

Northern Colorado is the home to National Parks, forests, grasslands, and many protected lands and open spaces through the great preservation work of the City of Fort Collins and Larimer County.  All of these conserved spaces are home to a multitude of raptor species that we citizens enjoy daily. Having the RRF Conference set in Fort Collins allows us to highlight many of the successes, as well as the challenges that raptors and their habitats face in an area that is experiencing huge growth in human population and development.

The conference will host scientific paper and research presentations, poster session, and many networking opportunities. A vendor marketplace will also be part of the conference. Additionally we plan to include an art show, featuring artwork from professional and semi-professional artists.  We hope to have local amateur and youth artists from our community and local schools enter their talent to the gallery displays that the conference will highlight.  “We want to inspire our youth to find the beauty in nature, which we hope, will lead them toward a higher desire to protect our ecosystems as they grow older.”, says RMRP Assistant Director, Lisa Winta.

Would you like to Sponsor this amazing conference? How about host a vending table?

Sponsorship’s range from in-kind support to Presenting Sponsor level of $10,000.   With the sciences facing funding challenges, this is one small way in which you can help to support the science we rely on to keep raptors alive in our wild places.
